During the week 28th July to 1st of August we will be asking you some questions about Greece, the answers may be contained in the passport page to the right….or they may not!

The Capital of Greece is Athens which makes up a large proportion of its 10.9 million inhabitants. Greece is a larger country than you think covering 131,937sq km.
Greece is also known for its many ancient battles including 480 BCE: Greeks defeat the invading Persians and enter the Classical era.323 BCE: The death of Alexander the Great marks the beginning of he Hellenistic era.
30 BCE: The Roman Octavian (Augustus) defeats the army of Cleopatra and Antony at Aktion and establish control over all the old Hellenistic kingdoms.
Greece is also well known for its alphabet including the letters Alpha, Omega and Sigma.
Greece is also well known for it’s fantastic islands including Kos, Corfu and Crete.
