Tom Stroud

Tom Stroud was born in 1978 on the Isle Of Wight.

A bit of a swot at school, he has 4 A levels (including Government & Politics) and is now into his 11th "year out". It has to be said that a unversity education is now looking pretty unlikely....

Tom loves music and got into radio for the glamour, free CDs and concert tickets. He quickly realised that radio isn't actually glamourous and that with the music industry in crisis these days there aren't any spare CDs or tickets to be had any more. He's still happy though, playing the tunes and chatting to celebs on your radio Monday to Thursday nights.

Tom has interviewed some of the biggest names in music, including Kylie, Coldplay, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Scissor Sisters, Annie Lennox, James Blunt and Bryan Ferry. He's worked for a national DAB radio station and during his time as Programme Controller at Isle Of Wight Radio he saw the station win a Gold Sony Radio Award (after two previous nominations) and win the Radio Academy Award for Station Of The Year four times.

When he's not on the radio he's listening to music, messing around with his camera, reading something or on a train to London. Occasionally he manages to do several of these things at the same time. He eats pizza, pasta, doughnuts and unaccountably manages to stay slim. He drinks lots of tea and, if it's the weekend, a Guinness or a Peroni or two. Brooklyn Lager if he can get it.

Tom is married to Zoe and they live together in a tidy house with too many cds (his) and too many shoes (hers). They love travel, especially New York, Italy and Paris.

He can't speak French so he lets the funky music do the talking (talking now).
